Graphic that says Open Enrollment and Deadline November 16.Open Enrollment is the time frame during which all benefit eligible employees  must either enroll or waive health, vision, dental, and flexible spending benefits for the benefit year January 1-December 31, 2019.  Open Enrollment for 2019 Benefits is NOW through November 16, 2018.  Great news for 2019- NO increase in medical, vision, or dental rates!

The Open Enrollment website
is now open.  If you are Wellness Compliant, you will see all rates when you sign into the enrollment system.  If you are not Wellness Compliant, you will only see non-compliant rates. If you have a question about the rates you are viewing, call 540-853-2502.

You will also receive an Open Enrollment packet at your location. If you are eligible for benefits and do not receive your packet by Monday, November 5, please contact Human Resources at 540-853-2502.  Information meetings will be held with Human Resources, UnitedHealthcare, and Express Scripts representatives.  The schedule is located on the second page of the bright green Open Enrollment Overview in your paper packet.  The first session is scheduled for Thursday, November 8th at 4:00 p.m. in the Addison Middle School Cafeteria. Attendance at a session is not mandatory; however, employees are strongly encouraged to attend. You may select the date, time and location that is most convenient for you. 

Updates for 2019

Introducing our new Prescription Drug carrier, Express Scripts: The district continues to make every effort to minimize any increase in costs and as a part of this we have contracted with Express Scripts for our prescription drug needs. You will receive a new prescription drug card for 2019. You can learn more about your pharmacy benefits through Express Scripts by going to their website: Additional information is available on the Human Resources Intranet website, 2019 Benefit Enrollment Hub tab.  

• Announcing a new comprehensive weight loss program for employees enrolled in our medical plan beginning 1/1/19, Real Appeal! See attached flyer for more information. As a result, we will discontinue our current Weight Management program on 12/31/18. (You may receive reimbursement for eligible expenses incurred up to and including 12/31/18, if submitted within 60 days of the date of service.)

• Easier Wellness Program Continues: Complete a preventive physical examination between 1/1/19 and 9/30/19. You are not required to submit any paperwork as proof of completion of wellness compliance! Instead, UnitedHealthcare will receive the physical code submitted by your provider’s office during the billing process.


  • Continuing for 2019, first time enrollees during Open Enrollment in the HDHP with HSA plan will have one-half of their annual premium credit deposited in their Health Savings Account no later than 1/11/19 provided that their HSA account is open and available for deposits. Your HSA account must be opened by December 14, 2018.

Enrollment Assistance

·         The Computer Lab, located next to the Media Center at the School Administration Building will be available numerous times during open enrollment.  New this year, we have added enrollment assistance at William Fleming and Patrick Henry High Schools.  If you need assistance in using a computer to enroll online, please consult the schedule on page 2 of the Open Enrollment Overview (bright green paper insert in your Open Enrollment packet) for the day and time that works best for you.
