Superintendent Rita Bishop will discuss “heavy hitting” topics such as the graduation rate and the future of education during this year’s convocation. The convocation is the kick-off event to welcome back all teachers and RCPS staff for the new school year. Dr. Bishop will also highlight recent accomplishments within the division and discuss new initiatives. The event will be held Thursday, August 26 at 9am in the Roanoke Civic Center.
School Board Chairman, David Carson will also give remarks during the event and there will be live musical performances from RCPS students. City and state leaders along with school board members will be attending this year’s event.
