The William Fleming band, city, school and community leaders will help celebrate the William Fleming stadium ribbon cutting at 4p.m. on Friday, September 3rd. The new stadium has a 3100 seating capacity and features baseball, softball and soccer fields. Construction began on the stadium in January 2010 and is ready just in time for the first football game on the Colonel’s new home turf. Wind Turbines have also been installed around the field to help generate electricity for the environmentally friendly stadium. Immediately following the stadium ribbon cutting, a reception will be held in the cafeteria for the inaugural class of the William Fleming Athletic Hall of Fame. The Fleming Athletic Hall of Fame reception will begin at 4:45 p.m. and is sponsored by the William Fleming Athletic Booster Club.
