Applicant Types

APPLYING FOR A TEACHING POSITION

STEP 1

To register and fill out a job application:

  1. Go to https://cloud.astihosted.com/roanoke/JAMNew/defaultapplicant.asp 
  2. Under Applicant Registration on the right, click “Register”.
  3. Fill in the blanks with your information regarding:
    1. First Name
    2. Last Name
    3. User Name – this will be a user name that you create, and will allow you future access to the application system
    4. Password – this will be a password that you create, and will allow you future access to the application system
    5. Confirm Password (retype your password exactly the same from Step D above)
    6. Email Address (or click box to the right that says “Do Not Have Email Address”)
    7. Confirm Email Address (retype your email address exactly the same from Step F above)
    8. Forgot Password Question – this is a question that you will create that you can use to access the system if you forget your password
    9. Answer to the Question – this is the answer to the question from Step H that you can use to access the system if you forget your password
  4. Click “Submit” (if box for no email was selected, a warning will appear, click “OK”).
  5. A page that says “Register Success” should appear to confirm your username and password, click “Login” to continue.
  6. *Next, a Welcome page will open.  To begin filling out the application, click on “Applications” in the blue toolbar at the top of your screen.
  7. Choose the “Teaching/Professional” category title in blue.
  8. Answer the question “Do you currently work for this school district?” by choosing “yes” or “no”.
  9. Read over the Application Instruction page and then click “Continue”.
  10. You will need to complete each of the sections listed on the left hand side of the page in blue:
  11. Click on “Personal Data” to begin, fill in the blanks, and answer the questions until you reach the bottom, then click “Done”.  If you missed any sections, a warning box will open.
  1. Once you have checkmarks next to each section on the left, you will need to click on “Activate This Application”

*If you have already registered, log in with your username and password at Step #4, then skip to Step #8*

(If you have forgotten your password, use the “Forgot Your Password” feature at Step #4)

  1. To apply to a current job posting:

  2. Next, click on “Apply to Current Job Postings” in the center of your screen
  3. Click on “Teaching/Professional Job Postings”
  4. Click on the title of the position you wish to apply for
  5. Finally, click on the small “Apply” icon in the top left hand section of the job posting
