Zeus from Harlem Globetrotters posing with RAMS Principal Ms. BeltonStudents at Roanoke Academy looked quite tired Monday morning, still trying to adjust from the time change.  But they all quickly perked up when a Harlem Globetrotter came running into the gymnasium.

Julian McClurkin, a.k.a "Zeus," stopped by Roanoke Academy (RAMS) to talked to students about the ABC's of bullying.  A stands for Action, B for Bravery, and C for Compassion.  McClurkin shared his own experiences of being bullied as a child.  He's told the students to never give up.  McClurkin was cut from every basketball team he tried out for from 7th to 10th grade.  But he kept at it and finally played basketball in high school and college.

The Harlem Globetrotters are famous for their antics and tricks on the basketball court.  Zeus didn't disappoint.  He taught several students and teachers how to spin and bounce the basketball.  He produced plenty of laughter and cheers.

The Harlem Globetrotters will play at the Berglund Center March 23.  Click here to learn more and to purchase tickets
